I got Ashley a Wii Fit for Christmas. Some people might have called it selfish, since the Wii is here at my house, and not at hers. I wasn't actually that excited about it myself but I decided to give it a try. As usual, Flower was meandering around the house, checking people out. She always liked to be nearby even though she was never what you would consider a lap cat. On this particular night, I was taking a turn at the Wii Fit, and not having much luck at the balance games, I decided to try out the Yoga. I suppose I was doing the warrior pose, with my front foot on the Wii Fit board, and my back foot extended behind me, when along came Flower. She had been only barely interested in what we were doing before but when she saw me there doing the pose, she came and sat down right in front of me. "I'll be done in a minute Flower." She stayed and looked at me and meowed. Maybe she wanted a treat, or maybe she wants a little attention: neither of which I would have considered her starved of. "I'll pet you as soon as I finish - I'm almost done, kitty." But she didn't want to wait. She reached up to me with her front paws and grabbed my shorts and just stood there, looking up at me, not letting go. I remember looking down at her and loving her; I remember the look of her just staring up at me and wanting something from me, and I remember how grateful I was to have such a lovely, beautiful, and wonderful cat to take care of.
